'Tis the season to be jolly? Nah...tis the season to consume vitamins!!!!

I used to enjoy Christmas when I was a child.  I grew up and had to go to the mall during Christmas shopping and I've hated it ever since.  The other thing I despise during this season is consuming the never-ending letters of the Vitamin alphabet.

I have (SAD) which stands for 'Seasonal Affective Disorder.'  The winter season always triggers it so I try to combat this with vitamins.  There are a few that I use during the dark and cold times:

For me, the most important is Vitamin D3 at 1000 IU per day.  I work outdoors so from spring to fall I don't need to consume any.  I was doing a little bit of reading and wanted to add this little tidbit,   "People who live in more northern latitudes (such as Boston, Mass., Milwaukee, Wis., or Portland, Ore. ) can only make vitamin D from March through September; supplies stored from summer sun exposure must last for many months, and by late winter, most of these individuals may be deficient.- Dr. Edward Giovannucci " http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/questions/vitamin-d-and-chronic-disease/

I also take a B-100 complex vitamin.  I also take Biotin and Zinc as it helps with strengthening the hair, skin and nails.  My hair is starting to thin out a bit as I was advised to add these to my diet.  I've only been on them for a few weeks.  I most likely won't see results for a couple of months.

I've also added Omega-3 to my diet.  I use the liquid kind that's lemon-flavoured.  I'd puke my guts out on a daily basis if I had to taste anchovies, sardines and/or mackerel.  Yummy!   I use this one:

I've also started eating chia seeds.  It's a new trend--a healthy trend, but trend none-the-less.  There's way too many benefits to type out.  So here's some reading material for you if you're interested:

Here's the nutritional info on it as well.
I've only started consuming chia for about a week and the first thing I've noticed is that I do in fact feel fuller.  I've had regular bowel movements.  That's pretty good.  Sorry, had to share.

And of course what vitamin-popping person would I be if I didn't take my daily multivitamins!

Well enjoy the upcoming winter.  Hope you don't catch the latest and scariest flu bug out there.
